PASIN PLEDGES FUNDING FOR MURRAY BRIDGE PLAYERS AND SINGERS

Member for Barker, Tony Pasin MP has announced that an elected Dutton-led Liberal Government will provide funding of $400,000 to progress redevelopment of the Murray Bridge Players and Singers’ Short Street premises.

Mr Pasin said he was pleased to secure funding for the organisation that would ensure the facility is fit for purpose for years to come.

“Murray Bridge Players and Singers has been an important part of the community for over 4 decades and this funding will see the building upgraded to provide a more functional creative space for decades to come” Mr Pasin said.

Plans for redevelopment include building additions to accommodate a kitchenette, additional rehearsal room, as well as state of the art fittings including professional quality sprung dance floor, sound and video system, wall mirrors and curtains.

“Community organisations like Murray Bridge Players and Singers offer community connection, social engagement and improved wellbeing for members of all ages. Supporting them is supporting the future of the Murraylands,” Mr Pasin said.

“Unfortunately, over the past three years, the Albanese Labor Government has starved regional communities of Federal funding opportunities previously available to support grassroots community organisations.”

“The Liberal Party believes that investing in our regions ensures that regional Australians can continue to be the powerhouse of our economy and that vibrant regional communities are the lifeblood of our nation.”

“This includes supporting the regional arts, cultural, sporting and recreational pursuits to foster and enhance community wellbeing,” said Mr Pasin.
