PASIN SUPPORTS MOUNT PLEASANT FARMERS MARKET VOLUNTEERS

Member for Barker Tony Pasin MP has awarded the Mount Pleasant Farmers Market a grant of $3,000 to support volunteers.

Mr Pasin said the market's social, cultural, and economic importance to the region was a testament to the community volunteers who have donated their time and skills over the past 13 years.

“The Mount Pleasant Farmers Market is a community success story like no other. Initiated by community for community and run by a team of dedicated volunteers, the atmosphere here each Saturday morning is really something special. It’s no wonder locals and visitors alike return week after week, contributing to the economic and social fabric of Mount Pleasant,” Mr Pasin said.

“Volunteers form the backbone of the market, and this grant is a small way in which the Federal Government can support volunteers in the work they do,” Mr Pasin said.

The grant funding will be used to provide Mount Pleasant Farmers Market volunteers with uniforms, first aid training, police checks, hats and sunscreen as well as assist the organisation with necessary workcover payments.

The Federal Government’s Volunteer Grants program is an initiative of the former Coalition Government, supporting not-for-profit community organisations with essential equipment, training, and resources to aid volunteers in their work.
