PASIN THANKS BARKER VOLUNTEERS

Member for Barker Tony Pasin MP has acknowledged the work of Barker’s Volunteers with awards granted at a morning tea organised by the Federal Member in Murray Bridge this week.

To conclude a week of celebrating Nations Volunteer’s Week highlighting the importance of volunteering, Mr Pasin acknowledged and thanked those that give their time to volunteer for the benefit of others.

National Volunteer Week is Australia’s largest annual celebration of volunteering, held between 19 to 25 May 2025.

“Volunteers really are the heart of communities across Barker and they deserve recognition for the time and skills they donate to help make our local communities the great places they continue to be,” Mr Pasin said.

“From the local footy or netball Club, service club or CFS, a thriving volunteer ecosystem is crucial in regional communities for the provision of services, events, support and for building a thriving sense of community,” Mr Pasin said.

Mr Pasin said 125 volunteers were recognised through the Barker Volunteer Awards this year and that hosting a morning tea was a small way to acknowledge and thank the community members who go above and beyond by volunteering.

“It provided opportunity for the local volunteer community to get together, celebrate each other, make new connections and share ideas with others from across the region over a cuppa,” Mr Pasin said.
