The horrific violence at Bondi Beach earlier today has shocked the nation and left Australians grieving.
My thoughts are with those who have lost their lives, those who have been injured, and the families and loved ones facing unimaginable pain.
I want to express my deepest sympathy to the Jewish community who have again been targeted. No Australian should ever feel unsafe because of their faith, heritage or identity. Westand with you, and we condemn hatred and violence in all its forms.
This violence is confronting and deeply distressing. This type of attack is unprecedented in Australia. Our public places should never be scenes of fear and brutality.
My thoughts and prayers are with all those affected.
