VETERAN WELLBEING GRANT FOR MOUNT GAMBIER RSL
Veterans and their families in Mount Gambier are set to benefit from new funding under the 2023-2024 Veteran Wellbeing Grant Program, with Member for Barker, Tony Pasin MP, announcing an $11,773.18 grant for the Mount Gambier RSL.
The grant will be used to purchase and install a wide drop-down screen and projector, enhancing the venue’s ability to host events, presentations, and educational programs that honour and support veterans.
Mount Gambier RSL representative Bob Sandow welcomed the funding, saying the new equipment will play an important role in bringing veterans together.
“This grant allows us another vital piece of equipment to support our younger veterans from modern wars and conflicts. It provides a platform for them to connect with our older veterans, sharing movies, service photos, and memories, strengthening the bonds between generations,” Mr Sandow said.
Mr Pasin congratulated the Mount Gambier RSL on its commitment to fostering veteran wellbeing and community engagement.
“I commend the Mount Gambier RSL on their dedication to preserving the legacy of our veterans and ensuring future generations understand the history and sacrifice that our veterans have made for this great nation,” Mr Pasin said.
The Veteran Wellbeing Grant Program supports projects that enhance the quality of life for veterans and their families, ensuring they receive the recognition, respect, and support they deserve.
