$5,000 VOLUNTEER GRANT SUPPORTS TOP OF THE TORRENS THEATRE GROUP

Federal Member for Barker Tony Pasin has welcomed the positive impact of a $5,000 Volunteer Grant awarded to the Top of the Torrens Theatre Group.

The funding, secured through the Australian Government's Volunteer Grants Program, has helped the group purchase equipment and resources to support its volunteers and strengthen its ability to continue delivering community theatre in the region.

Mr Pasin said the grant recognised the vital contribution volunteers make to community organisations across Barker.

"Volunteer-led organisations are the backbone of regional communities and the Top of the Torrens Theatre Group is a terrific example of that," Mr Pasin said.

"The dedication of the cast, crew and volunteers was on full display at the opening night of They Came From Mars. Their passion and commitment not only bring entertainment to local audiences but also help strengthen community connections."

Mr Pasin said he was pleased to support the group's successful grant application.

"Volunteer Grants are designed to support the people who give so much back to our communities," Mr Pasin said.

"I was pleased to support the Top of the Torrens Theatre Group's application and help secure funding that will assist the group to continue its valuable work."

Mr Pasin said community theatre and the arts played an important role in regional Australia by creating opportunities for participation, encouraging creativity and bringing people together.

Mr Pasin congratulated everyone involved in They Came From Mars and thanked the volunteers whose efforts continue to keep community theatre alive and thriving.
